Ferry

Hi everyone, Friday with Mother Goose Time the girls learned about “Ferry’s.” First the girls looked at a really cool Ferry video on a YouTube channel called Things That Go TV.

Then they did a activity called “Ferry Schedule.” They would pick a time and give each other tickets to catch the ferry. The girls used blankets as Ferries. They also explored time with their own clock.

The next activity was “Load up the Ferry.” The girls used a boat to transport the concept builder cards to their ferry’s.

Then used the concept cards to find something that matches the theme poster.

What MGT project did you do with your child this week that connected big muscle movement with language or math skills? What do you see as the benefits of combining physical activities with basic learning skills.

The girls used their large muscle movement with their math skills. During the ferry activities they worked with time and handing out tickets that matched the time on the ticket. I think it’s a great benefit for children to have combined physical activities with learning skills. All children learn differently and I believe hands on learning builds confidence and helps with skills.
