Branch and Apple

On Tuesday with Mother Goose Time we talked about branch. So we went outside to collect sticks and twigs and used them to make animal houses.

Then the girls did an art project called “On The Branch.”

Later on they did the “Fruit Pie Counting.” We talked about what fruit grows on trees, while they strung the beads.

On Thursday we talked about the Apple.  So the girls started of this lesson by creating Johnny Appleseed puppet.

Then I read the “Johnny Appleseed” story and after that girls arranged the “Life cycle of an Apple Tree” cards.

Mail and Computer

Hey everyone, on Thursday with Mother Goose Time the girls learned about mail. We talked about what they would like to get in the mail and they both said “gifts.” Then the girls wrote a “Dear Elephant” postcard the girls enjoyed this project.

Then the girls did “Mystery Envelope.” I hide two letters in the envelope and had the girls guess what letters and inside while giving them clues.

After awhile we played “Story in an Envelope.” I had the girls put the story pieces in the envelope and tell a story.

Friday, we discussed the computer. we went over the parts. Then the girls created their own computer with the provided MGT materials.

After awhile the girls did “Email Math” with the bus counters.  They added and subtracted the buses as I read the math story.

Phone

On Wednesday with Mother Goose Time we talked about Phone. The girls talked about how they talk to family on the phone. Then the girls made a “Pretend Phone” with the provided MGT materials. Then pretended to call the people in the phone book

The next thing the girls did was “Dial and Jump,” then we discussed who to call when there is an emergency.

Care

Hi everyone, on Thursday with Mother Goose Time we discussed who takes care of them and how we can care for others. Then we made “Fuzzy Feelings Sock.”  I had the girls get an old sock and we filled them with rice.  Then they put their hands inside and said “The rice feels crunchy.”  I then heated the sock up and they liked how warm they were.  After awhile the girls made a “Get well Card” with the provided MGT materials. The girls had fun creating  their cards.

The girls then played ” Care to Help.” I asked the girls how would they help a friend that couldn’t see and their answer was ” help guide them if they need help.” I had them take turns closing their eyes and guide each other around the room.

Share

On Wednesday with Mother Goose Time we discussed share and how important it is to share. Then we decorated “Share Boxes” with the provided MGT materials.

Then I took the girls outside to collect small items from outside to put them in their share boxes and they shared what they found inside.

Later on the girls played “Keys To Friendship” game.

Then “Sharing Makes More,” the girls mixed yellow and blue and watched the color change and compared the different shades of green they made.

Mad

Hi everyone on Thursday with Mother Goose Time we talked about what makes us mad. First we read the story “Sad, Mad, or Glad?”

Then we played the “Sight Word Slap” I put the site words on the table for the girls to slap and say the word out loud.

After awhile the girls played “Where’s the Bus.” We discussed  how they would feel if they missed the bus and they both said “sad.” I selected three cups and hid a bus under one cup. Then the girls lift a cup to see if the bus is under it.

Sad

Hey everyone, on Wednesday with Mother Goose Time, we talked about sad, reviewed the color blue and what makes us sad. Then the girls created a mirror with the provided MGT materials and made all kinds of emotion faces in the mirror.

Then the girls played “Feelings Shapes”game. We sorted out the Tangrams. Placed the emotion cards in the bag. Then draw a  card from the bag and trace the shape. They enjoyed this game because they related the emotions, shapes and colors to “Inside Out”movie.

You Are Special and Getting To Know You

Hi everyone, on Thursday with Mother Goose Time we talked about  why they are special. Then made “I am a Special tree” with the provided MGT materials.

Then the girls did “Special Faces. ” We talked about what they like best about their faces and mad faces in the mirror and compared them to the emotion picture on the poster.

Friday we talked about what animals can and cannot be our friends and why. Then we made “F is for Fox” the girls really had fun creating it.

Then we headed outside to do “Watch and Learn.” They kicked  and toss the ball around.
