Rainforest

Hi everyone, this month the children will be learning about the Rainforest.  Some of the topics we will go over are: Rainforest Floor layer, Rainforest Understory Layer, Rainforest Canopy Layer, and Rainforest Emergent Layer. The shape this month is hexagon. The numbers they will be learning are 5 & 6. Letters this month are D,J,M. So stay tune for curriculum activities.

 

At The Pond

Hi everyone,

Last week we started a new Mother Goose Time  theme “At the Pond”. So far they have learned about turtles,  tadpoles, frogs, and snakes.  So far their favorite topic was the tadpole and frog. The book I read to the children was “When A Tadpole Grows Up”.

This week we will talk about Pond Plants. Some of the plant the children will be learning about will be bog plant, algae, and floating pond plants.

Baby Animals

Hi everyone this month with Mother Goose time, the children will be learning about Baby Animals. This weeks topic is called “Waiting for Baby.” Tuesday the kids learned about Pregnant Moms. Then looked at pictures of a pregnant goat, horse, pig, and sheep.

Later on the kids made a cat mask.

On Wednesday the children learned about Eggs. They also looked at pictures of reptile and bird eggs.

This post is short due to the holiday and snow day.

Science Lab- States of Matter

Hello everyone, this month with Mother Goose Time we will be learning about science. So Monday we kicked it off learning about Properties of Matter and the kids were excited. Tuesday the children learned about States of Matter.

I wanted the kids to see solid, liquid and, gas and I explained to them how the ice turns into liquid and liquid into gas. So I gave them all a piece of ice so they could have hand on experience watching the ice melt into a liquid.

The next activity was Molecule Discovery.

Later on the children made Liquid Solid Blob  art project.

H is for Hippopotamus

Hello everyone, on Friday with Mother Goose Time we talked about the hippopotamus. The first activity we did was

“H is for Hippo.” The girls read MGT, I Can Read “Animals A-Zoo book.”

Then the girls played “Hippo Safety.” I set up an obstacle course so the girls can understand how hippos can run fast for a short distance before slowing down.

Later on the girls played “Hippo Moves” game.

Then built shelters for the animals.
